What we collect

In order for the user to create a list of favorites, certain information is required. An email and password is required to create an account and is stored for the purpose of logging users in and out with their credentials. Although Fun Fings requires and stores the users email address, we never send emails. We don’t send updates, announcements, or what have you and even if we did, it would be optional.

Email and Password

The email is used because we find that it is easier for users to remember an email address rather than trying to remember a username. Lastly, in regards to email addresses, they can be editted and changed at any point once the user is logged in.

Passwords are encypted when a user signs up so even the site administrator is unable to know what the users password originally was. This means if you forget your password, we cannot send it to you. The only thing we are capable of doing (at this time) is to have you contact us and we will give you a temporary password. Once logged in, you can create a new password.

First and Last Name

To allow for personalization, Fun Fings requires the users first and last name. The reason is so that it is easier to search for your friends, and when you receive questions from your friends (i.e. John Doe wants to know what your favorite color is) you don’t have to guess who it is.

Categories and Favorites

Since the categories and favorites are very subjective and aren’t necessarily exposing private information for the user, there is no real concern in this regard. Creating a list of favorites is the purpose of Fun FIngs, but the user is responsible for the type of content they add to their list.

Adding to the list is optional, so as a user, do not add favorites that expose private matters that you would prefer not to share. Your list is private, in the sense that no one can see it unless you and a friend have a friend agreement. That means, a friend can request that you be their friend, but you can deny their request if you wish.

However, once you are friends, you can see your friends list of favorites and they can see yours. You can then pick question you want them to answer and even select categories they have on their list and add them to your list. That being said, you are responsible for the categories you add from a friends favorites list.
